Extent to which your personal data is processed

In principle, we process personal data from our users only to the extent required for providing a well-functioning website and our content and services. As a rule, we only process personal data from our users after obtaining their consent. An exception applies in cases in which it is not possible to obtain consent in advance owing to material reasons and the processing of this data is permitted by statutory provisions or we have a legitimate interest in processing the data.

Purposes of data processing

We process your personal data for the purposes of fulfilling the contract and for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.

Transmission of your data

Your personal data will not be transmitted to third parties other than for the purposes specified. We will only transfer your personal data to third parties if:

  • you have explicitly consented to this;
  • the processing of your data is required to fulfil a contract with you;
  • the processing of your data is required to comply with a statutory obligation;
  • the processing of your data is required to protect legitimate interests and there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding legitimate interest in your data not being transferred;
  • the third party is a data processor contractually obliged by us to comply with data protection and ensure data security. Furthermore, data processors are contractually obliged by us only to process your data for the purpose of fulfilling the contract

In connection with the consultation of service providers, your data may be transmitted abroad, in particular if a service provider consulted by us is based abroad. Your data may also be transferred to countries without adequate data protection, such as the USA in particular. In such cases, we ensure compliance with statutory provisions by concluding contracts (in particular by concluding EU standard contractual clauses) or selecting contractual partners who are certified in accordance with the Swiss-US Privacy Shield.

Deletion of data

We comply with the principles of data avoidance and data minimisation. We therefore store your personal data only for as long as required to fulfil the purposes mentioned here or as stipulated by the various retention periods stipulated by law. Once the respective purpose ceases to apply or these retention periods have expired, the relevant data will be anonymised or deleted as a matter of routine in accordance with legal provisions.

Rights of the data subject

Using the contact details provided, you may exercise any of the following rights at any time, subject to statutory restrictions (e.g. statutory retention obligations):

  • obtain information about your data stored by us and how it is processed;
  • have incorrect personal data corrected;
  • have your data stored by us deleted;
  • restrict the processing of your data if we are not yet permitted to delete your data owing to statutory obligations;
  • object to us processing your data.

If you have given us your consent, you can revoke this at any time with effect for future processing.

SSL encryption

To safeguard the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (e.g. SSL) via HTTPS. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and there is a lock symbol in your address bar. SSL encryption means that the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

Data collection on our Website

Protecting your privacy is very important to us. Using the following measures, we will explain to you which of your personal data we process when you visit our website or use our online services.

Contact form and email contact

A contact form is available on our website and can be used to contact us electronically. If a user makes use of this option, the data entered in the input screen is transmitted to us and stored. This includes all data specified in the form, such as title, first name, surname as well as the usual correspondence data, such as address, telephone number and email address.

Your consent to the processing of the data is obtained when you send the form and reference is made to this Privacy Policy. We process the personal data from the input screen for the purpose of processing the contact.

Alternatively, you can contact us via the email address provided. Data transmitted by email – and thus outside of the internal administration network – is unencrypted and considered less confidential. Personal data transmitted via email is stored. No data relating to this is forwarded to third parties. The data is used solely for processing the conversation. The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected. For personal data from the input screen of the contact form and such data sent by email, this is the case once the applicable conversation with the user is over. The conversation is over when it can be assumed from the circumstances that the matter in question has been conclusively resolved. The user has the option to withdraw their consent to the processing of their personal data at any time.

Applications and application procedures

We collect and process personal data from applicants for the purposes of completing the application process.

IAs part of your online application, we store the personal data you transmit in our applicant database. This includes all data specified in the form, such as title, first name, surname, nationality, date of birth and gender as well as the usual correspondence data, such as address, telephone number and email address. In addition, we collect all documents you submit in connection with the application, such as cover letter, CV, employer references and diplomas/certificates.

In particular, this is the case if an applicant transmits the relevant application documents electronically, for example by email or using a web form on our website or via the integrated recruiting tool. Upon conclusion of an employment contract with an applicant, the transmitted data will be stored and further processed for the purposes of establishing the employment relationship, in compliance with statutory provisions. If an employment contract is not concluded with the applicant, the application documents will be deleted automatically no later than three months after the applicant is informed of the rejection, unless such deletion contravenes other legitimate interests. Other legitimate interests within this meaning may include a burden of proof in proceedings pursuant to the Gender Equality Act (GEA).

Sending of e-cards

e-cards (electronic cards) can be sent on our website. The data available on the input screen (sender name, sender email, recipient email, message) is stored by us for the purpose of collecting statistics. The stored data is not used for other purposes and is automatically deleted after three months. Your personal data is not passed on to third parties.

What are cookies?
Our website uses cookies, which are small files that are stored on your computer or mobile device when you visit or use our website. Cookies store certain settings about your browser as well as data concerning interactions with the website through your browser. When a cookie is activated, it is assigned an identification number (cookie ID), which is used to identify your browser and use the information contained in the cookie.

Most of the cookies we use are temporary session cookies that are automatically deleted from your computer or mobile device at the end of your browser session. We also use permanent cookies. These remain stored on your computer or mobile device after your browser session has ended. By using cookies, we can also track and analyse the behaviour of visitors to our website. Use of Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google LL.C., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). The statistics we collect allow us to improve our offering and make it more appealing to you as the user. This website also uses Google Analytics to conduct a multi-device analysis of flows of visitors, which is carried out via a user ID. If you have a Google user account, you can deactivate multi-device analyses of your use in the settings under “My data”, “personal data”.

Google will not associate the IP address transmitted by your browser through Google Analytics with any other data held by Google. This enables IP addresses to be processed further in shortened form, which means they cannot be directly linked to any particular individual. Data collected about you that can be attributed to you will therefore be immediately excluded and the personal data thus immediately deleted.

Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports on website activities, and to provide the website operator with additional services connected with the use of the website and the internet. For exceptional cases in which personal data is transmitted to the USA, Google has signed up to the Swiss-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt000000001L5AAI&status=Active

Google Analytics uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie regarding your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Through your visit to the website, Google is informed that you have visited that subpage of our website. In addition, the data collected during your visit to our website is transmitted. This is regardless of whether you are logged into a Google user account or whether there is no user account. If you are logged into Google, your data is linked to your account directly. If you do not wish for data to be linked to your Google profile, you must log out before activating the button. Google stores your data as user profiles and uses it for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or tailoring its website in line with your needs. In particular, such analyses are carried out (even for users who are not logged in) to provide tailored advertising and to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. You have the right to object to these user profiles being established; if you wish to exercise this right, please contact Google directly.
