Sports medicine

The Zuger Kantonsspital has been recognised as a ‘Sport Medical Base approved by Swiss Olympic’ since 2008 and offers a wide range of sports medicine services. Our interdisciplinary team supports elite athletes and recreational sportspeople in all aspects of their health and performance. It also offers medical check-ups, including laboratory diagnostics and other tests (health check-ups), to non-athletes.

Medical Partnerships

The sports medicine team at Zuger Kantonsspital looks after athletes at national and international level, both at competitions and during consultations. Through our medical partnerships, we act as a reliable medical partner to clubs, federations and individual athletes.

What is a medical partnership?

A medical partnership is a collaboration between our sports medicine department and a club, federation or event organiser, tailored to their specific needs. Depending on the partnership, it encompasses a range of sports medicine services – for example, preventative measures, medical support at matches and competitions, the assessment and treatment of sports injuries, or support during the return to sport. The aim is to support our partners with our sports medicine expertise wherever they need it.

Support at competitions and during consultations

Our sports medicine specialists are on site at many partner events to provide immediate treatment for acute injuries. During consultation hours, the focus is then on accurate diagnosis, personalised treatment and rehabilitation. Thanks to our close links with the departments of Orthopaedics & Traumatology and Radiology at Zuger Kantonsspital, assessment, treatment and aftercare are seamlessly integrated.

Our partner clubs and associations

The Zuger Kantonsspital supports numerous clubs and associations with its sports medicine services – from regional grassroots sport to the international elite. An overview of all our partnerships can be found below.
