Hospital chaplaincy

For many people, a stay in hospital is associated with uncertainty, fears and worries. At times like these, questions often arise that run deeper. The hospital chaplaincy at Zuger Kantonsspital is there for patients, their relatives and staff. We take the time to listen and walk with you for a while.

Our mission – to be present, to listen, to support

A stay in hospital takes us out of our usual daily routine. This can upset our inner balance and raise fundamental questions. It is important to us to understand what is on your mind: we listen and are there to support you. We treat everything you share with us in strict confidence, as we are bound by the duty of pastoral confidentiality.

What we offer

At the heart of our service is the personal conversation. As open or as quiet as feels right for you. On request, we also organise blessing ceremonies, farewell rituals, memorial services or Holy Communion services in small groups, and arrange the Sunday Communion service. We are also happy to put you in touch with your local church, parish or religious community. Hospital pastoral care is open to everyone, regardless of denomination or beliefs.

Room of Silence

You’ll find our Room of Silence on Level 3. Amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday hospital life, it is a place to pause. For a moment of reflection, for silence or for prayer. The room is open to you at any time.
