Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Zuger Kantonsspital carries out both elective procedures and emergency treatment following injuries. You will be treated by experienced consultants who work closely with the hospital’s other specialist departments. In this way, we combine specialist expertise with the security of an acute care infrastructure, all under one roof.

What does oral and maxillofacial surgery involve?

It treats diseases, injuries and malocclusions affecting the teeth, jaw and face. This ranges from planned oral surgery procedures – such as the removal of wisdom teeth or cysts – through the diagnosis and surgical treatment of tumours in the head and neck region and the treatment of acute and chronic infections in this area, to emergency care following accidents, for example in the case of a fractured jaw or a dislocated jaw.

Treatment by experienced affiliated doctors

At Zuger Kantonsspital, this department is staffed by affiliated doctors: specialists with their own practices who use the hospital’s facilities to provide your treatment. Our Institute for Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine, the affiliated A&E department and other specialist departments are all located on site. This ensures that you are well looked after around the clock, even in more complex or emergency situations.
