Hospital Pharmacy

The Hospital Pharmacy is the central specialist unit responsible for the procurement, preparation and safe use of medicines. It ensures that medicines are correctly prescribed, stored and administered to our patients.

Patient safety

The hospital pharmacy supports the entire medication process, from procurement to individualised therapy monitoring. Medication safety is at the heart of clinical pharmacy. Our team reviews prescriptions, carries out checks for drug interactions and polypharmacy, and accompanies ward rounds on site. We ensure seamless and safe medication management, particularly at treatment transition points such as on admission and discharge.

Chemotherapy and antibody therapies are prepared in-house on an individual basis for each patient – precisely tailored to their diagnosis, body weight and treatment plan. At the same time, the hospital pharmacy advises doctors and nursing staff on pharmacotherapeutic issues.

Networked and recognised

The hospital pharmacy is represented on numerous interdisciplinary committees, including chairing the Medicines Commission and contributing to the Antimicrobial Stewardship programme for the rational use of anti-infective agents. External institutions such as hospitals and care homes also benefit from our pharmaceutical advice.
