Medicines & Further Treatments

Leaving hospital is an important step on the road to recovery. To ensure you are well prepared when you go home and can continue your recovery safely, we will continue to support you even after your stay in hospital.

Your medication after discharge

You will be given a prescription for any medication you need to take after discharge – such as painkillers following a procedure. You can collect your medication directly from the public pharmacy on the ground floor of our hospital.

To ensure your treatment can continue safely, the pharmacy staff will check your current medication against your new prescription. Using a dosage chart, they will explain each individual medicine to you and answer any questions you may have. Of course, you can also collect your medication from any other pharmacy or from your GP.

Aftercare, rehabilitation and Spitex

Do you need further support after leaving hospital, such as home care from Spitex, a convalescent stay or rehabilitation? Please discuss this with your treating doctor as early as possible. If you have any questions, our nursing staff will be happy to help. Our patient advice service can also assist you in organising the period following your discharge.
