Your meals during your stay

Please let us know about any allergies, intolerances or special dietary requirements. Would you like an alcoholic drink with your meal? Please discuss this with your doctor first, as alcohol can affect the way your medication works and delay your recovery.

Rooms and more privacy

Would you like more peace and quiet? Patients with general or semi-private cover can, for an additional charge, be allocated a room for two or single occupancy. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee your preferred room type if the ward is full. In this case, the agreed surcharge will not apply. The ‘More Privacy’ upgrade does not constitute a change in insurance category.

You can also take advantage of the ‘More Privacy’ offer around the time of your baby’s birth to ensure your postnatal recovery is as undisturbed as possible.

Any requests or questions? Please get in touch

Do you have a special request or a question about meals? Please speak to your nurse or contact the room service staff directly. You can find further services such as Wi-Fi, hairdressing or transport under ‘Services from A to Z’.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Who will bring my meals to my room whilst I’m in hospital?

Our room service team takes your orders for meals and drinks and, in collaboration with the nursing staff, serves your main meals in your room. The room service staff are also on hand to advise you on the range of food and drinks available.

Am I allowed to drink alcohol in hospital?

Alcohol can affect how your medication works and have a negative impact on your recovery. You should therefore first discuss with your doctor whether you are allowed to drink alcohol.

Can I get a single room in hospital?

Patients with general or semi-private cover may be allocated a room for two or single occupancy for an additional charge. If the ward is at full capacity, room preferences cannot be guaranteed. In this case, the additional charge will not apply.

Can visitors eat at the hospital?

Yes. The restaurant and cafeteria on the ground floor are also open to visitors and offer hot and cold meals, snacks and drinks. The front area is reserved for external guests. There are also two drinks and snack vending machines.

What does the Room Service offer to those with private and semi-private insurance?

Patients with supplementary insurance and those at the Women’s Clinic are looked after personally by trained catering staff every day from 7.00 am to 7.30 pm. This includes, for example, room service, assistance with admission and discharge, running small errands within the hospital and organising taxi journeys.
