Traumatology

After an accident, every hour counts. The Department of Trauma Surgery at Zuger Kantonsspital treats patients with acute injuries and the after-effects of injuries, using both surgical and non-surgical methods. As a certified regional trauma centre, we are here for you round the clock and support you from the moment of the accident right through to your follow-up care.

On hand round the clock for accident victims

A specialist trauma team is on duty here round the clock. Our doctors have many years’ wide-ranging experience in treating accident victims. This ranges from providing first aid for acute injuries to treating the complex consequences of injuries. As part of the Central Switzerland Trauma Network, we work closely with partners in the region to ensure that even seriously injured people receive rapid and coordinated care.

Sports traumatology – experienced in elite and grassroots sport

More than a third of all leisure accidents occur whilst playing sport. Every sport has its own typical injuries. Our traumatologists work closely with our in-house sports medicine department, which is recognised by Swiss Olympic. We look after both recreational athletes and elite teams: as the official medical partner of various sports clubs, we support, amongst others, the first teams of EV Zug, LK Zug Handball, Zug United and Zug 94.
