Pain clinic

Chronic pain takes a physical and emotional toll. At the Pain Clinic at Zuger Kantonsspital, we support patients suffering from chronic and acute pain. Thorough diagnosis and well-coordinated interdisciplinary care form the basis for targeted pain management tailored to your individual situation.

What do we treat at the Pain Clinic?

We examine and treat people with chronic pain, as well as patients with complex acute pain, for example following surgery or in cases of cancer-related pain. Our aim is to improve your quality of life.

To ensure a holistic approach to diagnosis and treatment, specialists from the fields of rheumatology, anaesthetology, orthopaedics, neurology, radiology, oncology and physiotherapy work closely together. This interdisciplinary collaboration enables us to thoroughly investigate the causes of pain and draw up a personalised treatment plan.

Your treatment process

Where medically appropriate, we provide pain management on an outpatient basis. This means you can leave the hospital on the same day. We coordinate closely with your referring doctors and selected external partners. Complex pain issues, for example following a procedure, can be managed by us on an inpatient basis.

Why choose Zuger Kantonsspital?

The Pain Clinic is part of the Institute for Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine and is closely integrated into the care structures of Zuger Kantonsspital. This means you benefit from short distances to all relevant specialist departments – from imaging to physiotherapy.
