Oncology & Haematology

At our Oncology Centre in Baar, we treat a wide range of cancers. Thanks to the use of state-of-the-art diagnostic techniques, we are able to make an accurate diagnosis. Based on the findings, we draw up a treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs, whether this involves immunotherapy, chemotherapy, antibody therapy, hormone therapy, targeted therapy or radiotherapy.

Personalised care is important to us: we take the time to listen to you and your family, explain the diagnosis and treatment options, and support you both during and after treatment. In doing so, we pay particular attention to effective pain management and the prevention of long-term complications.

Diagnostics and interdisciplinary exchange

At our weekly tumour board meetings, we discuss each case with experts from various specialist areas and work together to develop the best possible, evidence-based treatment. The tumour board meetings are held in conjunction with specialists from Luzerner Kantonsspital and Stadtspital Zürich Triemli. On request, we also offer a second opinion in complex tumour cases.

Our comprehensive care and treatment

We provide both outpatient and inpatient treatment using immunotherapy, chemotherapy, antibody therapy, hormone therapy and targeted therapies, as well as bispecific antibodies. Radiotherapy is available to you directly at Zuger Kantonsspital, under the supervision of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Luzerner Kantonsspital. Interdisciplinary pain management and palliative care – both on an outpatient and inpatient basis – round off our services for patients with advanced cancer. Regular follow-up appointments are an integral part of our care, as is psycho-oncological counselling, which supports you and your family in coping with the emotional, physical and family-related challenges of the illness – even after treatment has finished.

Our haematology services

As well as treating cancer, we also treat blood disorders: abnormalities in blood counts and blood clotting, as well as malignant disorders of the blood cells. Using modern blood count and bone marrow diagnostic techniques, we accurately identify the cause and work with you to determine the most appropriate treatment. This also includes blood transfusions and bloodletting, which we carry out on site if required. As in oncology, personalised care throughout the entire course of treatment is our priority.
