Parents and baby are a central focus of our work. We place great emphasis on being able to offer you space and time to get to know your baby and help you get started in caring for your child in a pleasant atmosphere.

Our primary goal is to provide you and your relatives with helpful support and expert advice on all aspects of your baby's well-being. You will be looked after by a highly qualified team of nurses. Our breastfeeding consultant will also visit you during your stay.

Bonding und Rooming-in

Immediately after delivery or after the caesarean section, we promote bonding and the development of an intimate relationship between parents and baby by encouraging physical closeness, physical warmth and eye contact without undue interruptions. Both mother and father can take care of their new-born around the clock or for hours at a time, either independently or with assistance, in a private room. This allows both the parents and their new-born to get to know each other (Rooming-in).

Our large, bright private rooms for one or two people offer a pleasant atmosphere so that you can enjoy the first days with your baby in peace and quiet. In our booklet "Additional services for the birth" you will find detailed information about the non-medical services available during your stay with your new-born baby. Depending on your insurance cover, you may have the option to upgrade to get more comfort and enjoy extensive privacy. We also offer additional services for your partner if requested.

With the "More Privacy" upgrade, parents and baby enjoy the time after birth in our family suite or alternatively in a private room if the family suite is already occupied. Spouses may also stay the night with their new family and share the very close and intensive experience of the first few days, for an additional charge. Older siblings are also welcome to stay in the family suite.

Please inform your midwife if you would like to book the "More privacy" upgrade. As it is very difficult to accurately predict the timing of births, we can only confirm the availability of the family suite or a private room upon admission to the hospital.

These visits take place on a daily basis in addition to the care provided by the attending physician.

Your baby will usually be examined by a paediatrician during the 3 days after the birth. The paediatrician will then give you the results of the examination and answer any questions you may have.

Your attending nurse will discuss and organise the daily routine, particularly the care of your child, the baby bath and breastfeeding, together with you in person.

Breastfeeding is all about providing the baby with food, warmth, security, protection and safety. Breast milk contains everything an infant needs. Our breastfeeding consultants prepare expectant parents for this wonderful experience in the preparatory breastfeeding courses. Our consultants are available to answer any questions before and after the birth and also advise mothers who choose not to breastfeed.

During pregnancy, a woman's body, and especially her pelvic floor, experience great changes. As early as during the postpartum period, targeted exercises can help the body recover and regain its shape. We would be very happy to demonstrate the first exercises for the post-natal period. We can advise on daily exercise and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Postpartum exercise classes are offered on Tuesdays and Fridays from 11.00 am to 11.30 am.

The first few days with your new-born baby are quite unique. With professional baby photography you can capture this special moment forever if you wish.

The baby photographer of our partner company BabySmile regularly visits all new mothers and their babies. At your request, the first unique photos of your new-born child can be taken in a relaxed atmosphere during your stay in the hospital.

As a homecoming present, all parents are presented with a congratulations card featuring a photo of their new-born. If you consent, the photo will also be published in our baby gallery.

We are grateful to welcome your new-born into the world as a great gift. The arrival of a child stirs our hearts and fills us with wonder. But even the greatest joy may be tempered with quiet, anxious questions. We invite you to express these and many other feelings during the weekly blessing ceremonies of baby and parents. We cordially invite both parents and members of their family.

The blessings take place on Monday and Thursday at 1:30 pm in the Tranquillity Room, on the third floor.

As experts in maternity, midwives accompany and support expectant mothers, women giving birth, new-borns and their families throughout pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum and breastfeeding. Midwives perform an important function for women and families during this period of time.

You are entitled to consult a midwife up to 56 days postpartum This is covered by your health insurance. If you experience any specific problems, this can be extended with a prescription from your doctor.

We recommend that you familiarise yourself with the services offered by freelance midwives in the central region of Switzerland before the birth and contact a midwife of your choice.
