Spinal surgery

Our spinal team specialises in the comprehensive and long-term treatment of injuries and diseases affecting the spine and spinal cord. The team consists of the management team of the Swiss spine centre (RZS), the leading and highly specialised centre of excellence for the spine and spinal cord.

The Swiss spine centre was born out of the partnership and cooperation of the Lucerne Cantonal Hospital and the Swiss Paraplegic Centre SPC in Nottwil. The joint consultation team, which has been offering consultation services in Baar since January 2011, is headed by the Chief Physician of the Lucerne Cantonal Hospital, Dr. Martin Baur, and his Lucerne deputy and co-head physician, Dr. Markus Noger. The team works in close cooperation with the hospital's own physiotherapy and pain clinic teams and is therefore able to offer our patients the most effective treatment for their individual needs.

Assessment of spine and spinal cord problems in close cooperation with the hospital's internal specialist disciplines and the physiotherapy department of the Zuger Kantonsspital (spine consultations via the orthopaedics secretariat)
Diagnostic and therapeutic interventions of the spine
Conservative or physiotherapeutic treatment of spine-specific diseases
Spine and spinal cord surgery at the Luzerner Kantonsspital (=Lucerne Cantonal Hospital)
